The Mason Jar

The Mason Jar is a well-loved, established restaurant in St. Joseph, Michigan; therefore, stepping into the design and remodel we knew we needed to fix current flow and usage issues while maintaining and enhancing this local social hub. Situated within the flow from kitchen to diners, the entry was congested and causing problems for guests and servers. We widened the existing block wall to improve flow and designed a custom hostess stand providing more standing space. A custom millwork half wall, tile surround and new beverage station was all designed to increase efficiency of food coming out of the completely new and improved kitchen and dish room. A new four-bathroom core was added – each bathroom having its own unique flair. Lastly, a back of the house bar and seating area with a custom wood top, steel support and tiled wall was created to give diners an additional area to enjoy views, food and beverages.
